You did not comment on any of these points in your despatch No. 31 of 12th August, 1948 and whilst the difficulties are recognised of ascertaining the exact position regarding each claim in the absence of any machinery for the examination of claims, nevertheless it seems necessary to have more up to date information than is given in Allen's report for the purpose of discussions on this matter ab forthcoming conference.

I should be grateful therefore, if prior to Follows arrival you could let me have any further information that you may have obtained since Allen's report was written and for any comments on the points raised in this telegram saving.
